Ukraine's General Staff confirms strikes on key Russian Black Sea oil terminal in overnight drone attack, fire reported

Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Russia's Krasnodar Krai overnight, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed. A fire broke out at the facility following the strike. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

Tamanneftegaz is one of Russia's key oil terminals, located near the port of Taman on the Black Sea coast. The terminal handles transfers of crude oil, fuel oil, diesel, and liquefied hydrocarbon gases, and includes a large-capacity tank farm.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the operational headquarters of Russia's Krasnodar Krai reported drone debris falling on an industrial facility in the village of Volna, in the Temryuk district, without disclosing further details.

In addition to the oil terminal, Ukrainian forces struck a series of other targets between May 12 and 13, including:

  • Russian command-and-observation posts in the areas of Staromlynivka, Soledar, and Komyshuvakha in Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast;
  • a Russian drone command post in Myrne, also in occupied Donetsk Oblast;
  • Russian troop clusters in Kinski Rozdory, Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Oleshky, Kherson Oblast; Tiotkino, Kursk Oblast; Naumovka, Belgorod Oblast; near Myrne and Rivne in Donetsk Oblast; Varachyne, Sumy Oblast.
