Russia’s attack on the Mykolaiv and Sumy regions results in casualties and injuries
Russian forces attacked the Mykolaiv and Sumy region overnight on June 12, causing casualties and injuries, say the State Emergency Service and local authorities.
In Mykolaiv, the Russians damaged 14 residential houses. The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reports a family of three was injured in the attack. All were hospitalised.
“As of this morning, the man is in serious condition, the women are in moderate condition,” says the head of the administration, Vitalii Kim.
The Russian army also launched drones over Mykolaiv on Friday morning, damaging the premises of a transport company and cars. A man was injured and was also hospitalised.
In the Sumy region, Russian forces targeted railway infrastructure. According to the CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), Oleksandr Pertsovsky, the drones hit railway stations, electrical signalling posts and substations. One employee died in the attack, and another was injured.
"We have a loss: the operator of one of the railway stations died (there was a modular shelter, and, we assume, she was heading to it, the monitoring group reported increased danger – it is very important to act immediately!). The station duty officer was also injured; she underwent surgery, there is no threat to her life, our colleagues are with her," Pertsovsky wrote on Facebook.
