Russian ballistic missiles strike Kyiv, causing fires, killing 1, injuring 2 in two districts
Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight, igniting fires in two districts and causing casualties, Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported.
Firefighters responded to blazes in the Sviatoshynskyi district, where an administrative building and warehouse facilities caught fire. Two people were injured, with one hospitalized.
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported that one woman died as a result of the attack on Kyiv.
At another location in the same district, a garage cooperative burned and the fire was extinguished. The attack also damaged an administrative building and several trams. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, tram routes No. 1 and No. 3 are temporarily operating on increased intervals and have been replaced by bus routes No. 1T and No. 3T.
In the Desnianskyi district, warehouse premises also caught fire.
