Russian cluster munitions destroy Nova Poshta delivery company sorting center, killing 3 and injuring 8

Russian forces destroyed a Nova Poshta sorting center during the massive ballistic attack on Kyiv overnight, killing three people and injuring eight others, the company said.

The Russian attack used cluster munitions, Nova Poshta added.

According to the company, two drivers from a partner carrier and one employee of a contracting organization were killed in the strike. Eight other people were injured, and assistance is being provided to them and their families.

Nova Poshta also said customers whose shipments were damaged in the attack would be compensated for the declared value of their parcels.

Russia’s overnight attack

During the massive overnight strike, Russia attacked Ukraine with 143 aerial weapons, including 24 ballistic missiles. Ukrainian air defenses did not intercept any of the ballistic missiles. In total, 17 people were killed.

In Kyiv, at least one person was killed and 24 were injured in the ballistic strike. The death was recorded in the Obolonskyi district. In Holosiyivskyi district, a minor ammonia leak occurred at an industrial site after the attack damaged a system containing about 300 liters of the substance.

Among the injured in Kyiv was an ambulance driver, and four of the victims were in serious condition.

In Kyiv Oblast, 14 people were killed in the attack. The highest toll was in the Brovary district, where nine people died, including eight who were killed at Kvitneva station while waiting for a train.
