Russia launches 258 drones and missiles at Ukraine overnight, killing one
Russian forces launched 258 drones as well as ballistic and anti-ship missiles at Ukraine overnight on August 27, killing at least one person and injuring several others across the country, Ukrainian authorities reported.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched two Oniks anti-ship missiles, an undisclosed number of Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, three S8000 Banderol jet-powered cruise missiles and 258 Shahed, Gerbera and other drones.
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted or suppressed one Oniks missile, seven ballistic missiles, all three Banderol missiles and 222 drones.
The main targets of the attack were Odesa, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava oblasts, as well as Zaporizhzhia.
In Sumy Oblast, a 66-year-old woman was killed when a residential building was struck, while four other people sought medical assistance.
At least three people were injured in Zaporizhzhia, and two others were wounded in a ballistic missile strike on an industrial facility in Kryvyi Rih. Authorities also reported damage to residential buildings and infrastructure in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa.
The Air Force recorded strikes at 15 locations and debris from intercepted weapons at another 11.
