Russia launches 80 drones at Ukraine, causing damage in Kyiv and other regions
Russia launched 80 drones at Ukraine overnight on Sept. 16, with strikes and falling debris causing injuries and damage in Kyiv and several other regions, Ukrainian authorities said.
In Kyiv, debris from a Russian drone fell on a warehouse, injuring one person who was hospitalized, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
Across Kyiv Oblast, authorities reported damage at 17 sites in five districts, including eight private homes, five vehicles, a municipal facility, a hangar and an industrial building. A driver suffered a concussion from the blast wave in the Obukhiv district.
In Zaporizhzhia, emergency workers rescued a 65-year-old woman who had been trapped under debris inside a damaged building.
Separately, Russian forces targeted a 68-year-old man with an FPV drone in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson. He died from his injuries, according to regional authorities.
Earlier on Sept. 16, a Russian strike also hit a Kyiv–Mykolaiv passenger train. Passengers and crew were evacuated, and no casualties were reported.
