Russian oil refinery halts operations after overnight drone attack
The Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia’s Rostov Oblast temporarily halted operations after being damaged in an overnight drone attack, regional Governor Yuri Slyusar said on Sept. 25.
Slyusar said around 50 drones were intercepted over several cities and districts in the region. No casualties were reported at the refinery.
The Novoshakhtinsk facility can process up to 7.5 million metric tons of oil per year.
Drone attacks were also reported overnight in Perm and Ulyanovsk.

View in Telegram.In Perm, reports indicated a fire at an oil refinery, while the Iskra plant in Ulyanovsk, which produces electronic components used in communications and other equipment, was reportedly targeted.
The extent of damage at the two facilities was not immediately clear.
