Russian drone strike hits Kyiv bridge, suspending metro service
Russian drones struck a supporting structure of Kyiv's Pivdennyi Bridge on Wednesday, forcing authorities to suspend metro and other public transport across the bridge.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said municipal engineers were inspecting the structure to determine the extent of the damage.
Videos circulating on local Telegram channels appeared to show drones striking the bridge.
The strike came as Russia continued its drone attack on Ukraine into the daytime. Earlier Wednesday, a Russian drone hit a Kyiv school while more than 100 students and about 60 staff members were sheltering inside. No one was injured at the school.
Ukraine's Air Force said Russia had launched 107 drones overnight and into the morning, including 63 jet-powered drones.
