Shahed drone wreckage with which Russia attacked Ukraine again discovered in Romania

The wreckage of a Shahed kamikaze drone, which was used by Russia to attack Ukraine last week, was found again near the Ukrainian border in Romania, reported the Ministry of Defense of Romania.

Over the past few days, a group of specialists has continued field searches for possible fragments of drones that may have fallen last week on the Romanian bank of the Danube. A new wreckage was discovered near the village of Ceatalchioi, located in Tulcea Country, not far from the Ukrainian border.

Experts also investigated the version of the fall of the wreckage of the Shahed UAVs near the villages of Niculitel and Chilia, but this information was not confirmed.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that the discovered wreckage of Russian drones was outside the population centers, no people or infrastructure were harmed. There, they also condemned Russia's attacks on Ukraine, noting that they are "unjustified and in serious contradiction with the norms of international law."

Background

On July 25, Russia attacked Ukraine with 38 Shahed drones. The aggressor, in particular, targeted the port infrastructure of Odesa Oblast. According to the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, three UAVs were lost after crossing the border with Romania.

Bucharest confirmed that wreckage of Russian drones was once again found on the territory of their country. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Defense, two F-18 aircraft of the Finnish Air Force took off from the 57th Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base to monitor the air situation.

The Romanian Ministry of Defense is conducting an on-site investigation to search for possible wreckage. Specialists began searches in the first of three possible areas where the drones fell.

A similar incident happened during the attack on July 24.
