In Poland, Ukraine is offered to buy weapons from them on credit: You will rebuild and give back
The Polish government proposes to provide Ukraine with a loan for the purchase of Polish weapons, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski said on Polsat News. Kyiv would be able to repay it after the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
According to Sikorsky, the government of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk "made a proposal for a defense loan". However, he did not explain at what level this proposal is considered – only as an idea or if there have already been some steps to implement it.
"This could have been done from the very beginning: buy from Polish factories on credit, and when you rebuild, you will return it," said the Polish minister.
Previously, Sikorski already stated that Poland has done more for Ukraine than any other country, and Polish President Andrzej Duda claimed that Ukraine has changed its attitude towards Poland because now it cannot send as many weapons as before.
"One could have hoped that the situation would change in the way it did. Because we just gave everything we could give. And we gave quickly and when it was needed," he said.
In addition, the Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, also mentioned that his country was the first to send military aid to Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, but "there is no mention of this aid from the Ukrainian side."
At the same time, he also stressed that it is necessary to "increase efforts to maintain interest in the situation in Ukraine" and to raise the issue of supplying weapons to Ukraine because this affects the security of Poland.
