Russian drone attack on Dnipro

Russia launched a drone attack on Dnipro during the day on September 30, killing one person and injuring at least 28, including a 10-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. Twelve people were hospitalized.

"It is a brazen attack — in broad daylight, on civilian infrastructure. [...] With every such strike, Russians prove time and again that they must face strong pressure. Such strikes also demonstrate that the world’s sanctions on Russia must hit the aggressor much harder, and that all of us in Europe must build a reliable defense against Russian drones and missiles," President Zelensky wrote on X.

Poland detained Ukrainian suspected of the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline blasts

Poland detained a Ukrainian citizen suspected of the 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions. The police detained the suspect, identified as Volodymyr Z., in the city of Pruszków and transferred him to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. He might be extradited to Germany as the detainee was wanted under a European Arrest Warrant issued by a German court.

The detainee's lawyers believe that there are no grounds for extradition to the German justice system, because Nord Stream belongs to the Russian company Gazprom, which is financing a full-scale war in Ukraine, so "the defense currently does not see any possibility of bringing charges against anyone who participated in these activities."

Zelensky: situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP is critical

Ukraine's President Zelensky says the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is critical. For the seventh day now, the plant, which is under Russian occupation, has been disconnected from the electrical grid and is being supplied with electricity by diesel generators. The plant has never operated in this mode for so long.

The Russians continue shelling the plant, preventing any attempts to repair the power lines and restore basic security.

Zelensky added that he had instructed the Ministry of Energy, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to draw the world's attention to the situation.
