Russian attack on Kyiv injures 8, sets residential building on fire
Eight people were injured in Kyiv overnight on Sept. 11 as a Russian attack damaged residential buildings in two districts of the Ukrainian capital, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported.
A nine-story residential building was damaged in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district, where a fire spread across the facade from the first to the fifth floor. An apartment on the second floor also caught fire.
Emergency workers rescued seven people from the building, while seven others were taken to ambulances for medical assistance.
Eight people are known to have been injured. A 64-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman suffered burns, while a 23-year-old woman sustained a shrapnel wound.
In the city’s Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out in a one-story warehouse building. No injuries were reported there.
A warehouse fire also broke out in Bucha district in Kyiv Oblast following the Russian attack. Russian forces struck the area again while emergency crews were extinguishing the blaze, but firefighters continued their work.
