A Russian missile attack on the city center of Sumy on April 13 has killed at least 35 people, as reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

Among the dead are an 11-year-old boy and a 17-year-old man.

According to the Sumy City Council's health department, a total of 120 people sought medical help: 105 adults and 15 children.

On April 13, the Russian forces struck Sumy with two ballistic missiles.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the strikes occurred in the interval of 2-2.5 minutes — at 10:15 and 10:17 AM. The Russian troops reportedly used the Iskander-M high-explosive fragmentation missile. Its speed exceeds 2 kilometers per second.

The Sumy City Council noted that the Russians attacked the city's civilian infrastructure. In particular, the Russian strike destroyed the buildings of Sumy State University and residential buildings.

April 14, 15, and 16 have been declared Days of Mourning in the Sumy City Territorial Community.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has shared information about the Russian strike on Sumy with foreign partners and international institutions. Minister Andrii Sybiha called on partners to “resolutely respond” to the Russian strike by providing Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities and increasing pressure on Moscow.
