Ukraine’s SBU officer shot dead in Kyiv
An employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was killed during a shooting in Kyiv, the SBU press service told hromadske.
On Thursday morning, police reported a shooting in Kyiv’s Holosiyivskyi district, where they found a man’s body with a gunshot wound.

View in Telegram.Former intelligence officer Roman Chervinskiy claimed the victim was Colonel Ivan Voronych, stating, “A person who fought the enemy since 2014 and was among those who pioneered a direction in the Service that now creates significant problems for the orcs.”
According to Chervinskiy, the man was killed with five close-range shots as he left his residence.
The SBU confirmed that a criminal investigation has been opened regarding the killing of their employee. The SBU and National Police are investigating all circumstances of the crime.
The pre-trial investigation is proceeding under Article 348 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer, member of a public formation for maintaining public order and state border protection, or military service member).
