Russian mass drone and missile attack on Kyiv kills 10, including children
In the early hours of Thursday, Russian forces conducted a large-scale attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles, resulting in at least 10 deaths and 45 wounded, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, and Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
Among the fatalities in the capital were at least two children, with at least five children aged 7 to 17 among the injured.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported at 8:09 a.m. that the death toll in Kyiv had risen to eight, including one child.
By 9:45 a.m., Tkachenko confirmed the toll had increased to 10.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported 38 injured, with 30 people hospitalized.

At 7:43 a.m., the Interior Ministry noted that rescuers recovered body fragments from the rubble, with around 30 people injured.
Three individuals were rescued alive from one site, but Klymenko indicated a high likelihood that others remain trapped.
Approximately 500 rescuers and 1,000 police officers are responding across Kyiv.
The attack involved Gerbera and Shahed drones, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and Kinzhal missiles, launched from multiple directions.
Damage was reported at over 20 locations across Kyiv’s Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiyivskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnianskyi districts.
In Darnytskyi district, a direct hit destroyed part of a five-story residential building, with rescuers working to free trapped individuals. A nine-story and a 16-story residential building, a private house, a parking lot, and a kindergarten were also damaged.
In Dniprovskyi district, a 25-story residential building was hit, and a drone struck a courtyard near a nine-story building, damaging dozens of vehicles.
In Solomyanskyi district, a private house caught fire, which was later contained.
Shevchenkivskyi district saw damage to non-residential buildings, offices, and vehicles.
In Holosiyivskyi district, fires broke out at multiple sites, over 10 houses had windows blown out, and vehicles were damaged.
Non-residential areas in Desnianskyi and Obolonskyi districts also sustained damage.
A shopping center in central Kyiv was also damaged.
