Russian missiles kill 3, injure 13 in Kharkiv Oblast town

Russian troops launched two missile strikes on the town of Balakliya in Ukraine's Kharkiv Oblast overnight into Monday, killing three men and wounding 13 others, including four teenage girls, Balakliya Military Administration head Vitaliy Karabanov and Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration head Oleg Synegubov reported.

Preliminary information shows the dead were two 70-year-old men and one 57-year-old man.

The number of injured rose to 13, including girls aged 12, 14, 15 and 17. Nine of the wounded were hospitalized, and one received outpatient treatment.

Rescuers said the missiles hit a densely built residential area, damaging nine- and five-story apartment buildings, a kindergarten and passenger cars. All fires were quickly extinguished by State Emergency Service units.

Previous attacks

On November 15, Russian strikes hit Kharkiv city and five other Kharkiv Oblast settlements, the regional administration said.

In the village of Katerynivka in the Velykyi Burluk territorial community, a 61-year-old man was injured. Private homes, a recreation base and outbuildings were damaged.

On November 16, Russian forces struck Kharkiv's Kholodnohirskyi district with a Molniya-type drone. The regional administration said preliminarily no one was hurt, with only windows damaged in a high-rise.
