Russian strikes wound 16 in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, damage fire and rescue unit

Russian forces launched 642 strikes on 26 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast throughout Monday, injuring at least 16 people, the regional military administration reported.

The aggressor conducted 13 airstrikes, attacked with 407 drones, fired four multiple-launch rocket salvos, and 218 artillery barrages.

In particular, around midday, Russia targeted residential areas in the regional capital — Shevchenkivskyi and Oleksandrivskyi districts of Zaporizhzhia. According to police, the Russian army hit the city with KAB guided aerial bombs.

This attack wounded 12 people. Eight of them were hospitalized, and five are in serious condition. All five have undergone surgery; doctors are fighting for their lives.

Reports also mentioned wounded from a Russian attack on Vilniansk.

Overall, as of Tuesday morning, 31 people injured in recent mass strikes are in hospitals in Zaporizhzhia city and region.

The regional administration received 130 reports of damage to homes, vehicles and infrastructure sites. In particular, overnight into Tuesday, Russian forces damaged a fire-rescue unit building in an unnamed settlement in the Zaporizhzhia district.

Rescuers said the attacks targeted a civilian infrastructure site, with the fire unit damaged by the blast wave. Windows and doors were shattered, and the roof was damaged.

At the time of the attack, the unit's personnel were extinguishing a fire in a neighboring settlement, so no rescuers were injured.
