Russian attacks kill 1, wound 11 in Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast

Russian attacks on Sumy Oblast over the past day left 11 people injured and one person dead, according to the regional military administration.

On Thursday morning, Russian troops dropped two guided aerial bombs on the Bilopillia community. As a result of the attack, a 35-year-old man was killed.

Three men aged 34, 46 and 48, as well as eight women aged 26, 36, 40 (two women), 47, 53, 55 and 62 were also wounded.

A Russian drone struck a Ukrposhta vehicle in Sumy Oblast. The company said this was the fifth vehicle lost in the region in recent months. The crew survived unharmed.

Thanks to help from local residents, the vehicle was quickly repaired and the team returned to base.

In total, from Thursday morning to Friday morning, Russian forces carried out more than 40 attacks on 27 settlements across 16 territorial communities in the region. The highest number of strikes was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

Sumy regional governor Oleg Hryhorov stated that “Russian troops are deliberately attacking civilian objects and critical infrastructure, seeking to destabilize community life and terrorize the civilian population.”
