2 Ukrainian volunteers killed in Russian drone strike while delivering bread in Kharkiv Oblast

Russian forces attacked a vehicle with an FPV drone in Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv Oblast. As a result of the strike, two men who were transporting fresh bread for local residents were killed, according to the Derhachi Town Military Administration and Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office.

According to Derhachi Military Administration head Viacheslav Zadorenko, two residents of Kozacha Lopan were trying to deliver fresh bread to their fellow villagers. As they entered the settlement, an enemy FPV drone spotted them and struck the front of the vehicle.

The prosecutor’s office noted that two men — local volunteers — were killed as a result of the attack.

“The most cynical thing is that the Russians knew perfectly well that civilians were in the vehicle. Not long ago, Russian propagandists published video from their own drone, accompanied by a caption saying their UAV operators, upon seeing civilians in the car, immediately diverted the strike drone from them. The video shows the same vehicle they destroyed today,” Zadorenko said.

Other attacks

The prosecutor’s office reported that on Thursday Russian forces attacked several more vehicles in Kharkiv Oblast. In Hrushivka village, Kupyansk district, a drone strike hit near an emergency medical aid vehicle. Two medical workers — a man and a woman — were injured.

In Ruska Lozova village, a Russian drone struck a civilian vehicle. A 70-year-old man was wounded. The vehicle was damaged, and the victim was near the car at the time of the strike.

Over the past day, eight settlements in Kharkiv Oblast came under Russian attack. As a result of the strikes, five people were injured, the regional military administration reported.
