Russian drones injure 5, including child, in Zaporizhzhia attack
Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with drones overnight into Tuesday, injuring at least five people including a child and damaging residential and industrial buildings, while a separate guided bomb attack in Komyshuvakha wounded an 87-year-old man and one in Orikhiv killed a 71-year-old resident, the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration and State Emergency Service reported.
The drone assault on the city occurred between 11:10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.
One strike hit open ground near residential areas, damaging five five-story apartment buildings and parked cars.
Another hit an industrial building next to a nine-story residential block, sparking a 200-square-meter fire that emergency crews extinguished. Nearby homes were also damaged.
In Komyshuvakha, Zaporizhzhia district, guided aerial bombs struck an agricultural enterprise, causing a fire and injuring an 87-year-old man.
In Orikhiv, Polohy district, a drone hit private homes, killing a 71-year-old man.
