Port and energy sites damaged in Odesa Oblast after massive drone assault

Russian troops attacked a port and energy structure in the Izmail district of Odesa Oblast overnight into Thursday, the Izmail District State Administration reported.

There is damage in two locations - in the city of Izmail and the Vylkove territorial community.

Civilian infrastructure was also hit, causing fires. One person was wounded, according to the State Emergency Service.

Odesa Oblast Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said power outages occurred in several settlements. Critical infrastructure was switched to backup generators, and restoration work is underway.

Rescuers operated at multiple sites while repeated air raid alerts complicated their efforts.

How many drones has Russia launched?

Russia launched 153 strike drones — Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types — against Ukraine overnight, the Air Force Command said.

Air defenses shot down or suppressed 130 of the drones by 8 a.m. 16 drones struck 11 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at five others.

The previous night, a Russian attack in the same Izmail district killed one person.
