Ten injured in Ternopil as Russia launches waves of over 400 drones across Ukraine

Russian forces launched a massive drone strike against Ternopil on Friday, injuring at least ten people and damaging critical infrastructure, Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal reported. Several other Ukrainian regions were also attacked.

Russia targeted the city with more than 50 Shahed drones, resulting in over 20 audible explosions.

“The attack has resulted in strikes on industrial and infrastructure facilities in the city. The relevant services are on the scene,” Nadal said.

Ten people were injured in the strikes, one of whom remains in critical condition.

Several neighborhoods—including Canada, Center, Novyi Svit, Staryi Park, and the Soniachnyi district—were left without electricity. Repair crews are currently working to restore power.

Consequences of the attack elsewhere

The assault was part of a wider campaign across Ukraine since Friday morning. Explosions were also reported in Rivne, Starokostiantyniv, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack lasted from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., involving a total of 409 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types.

Ukrainian air defenses, utilizing aviation, anti-aircraft missiles, and electronic warfare units, shot down or suppressed 388 drones across the country. However, 16 drones successfully hit targets at six different locations, and debris fell at 11 other sites.

In Rivne Oblast, Governor Oleksandr Koval reported that a residential building caught fire after its roof was struck.

In the town of Dubno, a separate strike on an apartment complex blew out windows and damaged three vehicles, injuring five people.
