Ukrainian forces strike Ryazan oil refinery in Russia for second time
Ukrainian Defense Forces struck Russia's Ryazan oil refinery for the second time overnight into Thursday, hitting secondary oil processing units and sparking a fire, the Armed Forces General Staff reported.
The refinery has an annual capacity of 17.1 million metric tons of crude oil and ranks among Russia's largest.
It produces A-92/95/98/100 gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied gases and other petroleum products, including an average of 840,000 tons of TS-1 aviation kerosene yearly used by Russia's Aerospace Forces.
Damage assessments are ongoing.
Ukrainian forces also hit a Russian troop cluster in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, with enemy losses under evaluation.
Reuters reported earlier that the Ryazan refinery halted crude processing after a November 15 Ukrainian drone attack. Sources said the resulting fire forced the shutdown of the main crude distillation unit, with a capacity exceeding 8 million tons annually — or 48% of the plant's total.
