Ukrainian drones may have hit Yaroslavl oil refinery for second time this month

Drones struck the Russian city of Yaroslavl overnight, activating air defenses and setting off explosions, Yaroslavl Oblast Governor Mikhail Evraev said. Local residents reported that the Yaroslavl oil refinery may have been targeted.

Evraev claimed most of the drones were shot down, but acknowledged a hit on an "industrial facility." A major intersection along Moskovsky Prospekt was closed following the attack, though traffic on the road leading out of the city toward Moscow was subsequently restored.

Separately, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that drones also targeted the Russian capital overnight, with at least four unmanned aerial vehicles shot down and debris falling across the city.

Note: Yaroslavl is located approximately 185 miles northeast of Moscow. The Slavneft-YANOS refinery is one of Russia's largest oil processing facilities and has been a recurring target of Ukrainian drone strikes since the start of the full-scale war.
