Ukrainian SBU drones hit Russia's FSB command center used to guide missiles and drones
Ukrainian drones struck a Russian FSB center involved in radio-electronic intelligence in Krasnodar Krai, a facility that was used to guide missiles and drones against Ukraine, the Security Service (SBU) reported.
According to the SBU, specialists from the Alfa special operations center hit the Russian command post in Temryuk district, in Russia’s Krasnodar KRai.
The agency said the site was used to direct missiles and drones at Ukrainian territory and to intercept signals from foreign satellites. The strike disabled key assets at the Russian radio-electronic intelligence center, the SBU added.
Such operations have strategic importance because they weaken Russia’s ability to control airspace, coordinate air defense systems and direct strikes on Ukraine.
“Strikes on radio-electronic intelligence centers open new opportunities for Ukrainian drones and make it harder for Russia to protect military facilities deep in the rear,” the agency said.
The SBU statement follows other Ukrainian strikes reported overnight into Friday. Ukrainian forces also said they hit the Volgograd oil refinery, the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station and other Russian facilities.
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces said the Volgograd refinery serves as a strategic fuel hub between Russian frontline and rear units and also supplies the Russian Black Sea Fleet with gasoline, diesel fuel and aviation fuel.
The Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station, operated by Russia’s Transneft and also targeted overnight, is a hub on the Surgut-Polotsk pipeline. That route carries oil from Siberia and northern Russia to the Baltic ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga, as well as to Belarus.
