Sweden sends $836-million military aid package with secret systems and projects to Ukraine

Sweden has allocated a new, 20th military aid package to Ukraine, valued at approximately $836 million, the Swedish Ministry of Defense announced.

The package includes:

  • 18 new Archer artillery systems and 155-mm ammunition, increasing Ukraine’s total Archer arsenal to 44 units.
  • Marine materiel: coastal surveillance radar systems, tross boats equipped with grenade launchers, diving chambers and crane lorries. 32 previously donated Combat 90 boats will receive additional sensors, weapon systems, and radars.
  • Ammunition, sensors, and control systems for previously supplied Swedish Tridon air defense systems.
  • Programmable 40-mm anti-aircraft ammunition.
  • Other equipment, including 500 motorcycles and support equipment for airbases, such as trucks and tractors.
  • Financial contributions of $68 million to various coalitions.

“Sweden is now increasing its military support to Ukraine to put greater pressure on Russia. More Archers, drones, and ammunition will make a difference on the battlefield. Europe’s right to peace and freedom must be defended,” Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson wrote.
