Ukraine holds military robot parade in Kyiv on Independence Day
Ukraine showcased domestically developed military robots and drones in central Kyiv on August 24, marking Independence Day with what organizers called a “parade of a new generation.”
Instead of columns of troops, unmanned ground vehicles used by Ukrainian forces on the battlefield rolled along Khreshchatyk, Kyiv’s main street.
The display included Rys PRO and Termit ground robotic systems designed for logistics, casualty evacuation and combat missions. Operators also demonstrated Ukrainian-made drones, including the P1-Sun interceptor.
Footage shown during the event featured Ukrainian unmanned maritime systems, including the Magura, Sea Baby and Sargan.
Speaking to foreign partners at the event, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine could become “a real security donor” to its partners and Europe after the war.
“Of course, now is not the time to boast, but we have something to show,” Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine has rapidly expanded the development and battlefield use of unmanned systems during Russia’s full-scale invasion, deploying them in the air, on land and at sea.
