Russian drone attacks injure 9 in Kyiv, hit residential buildings (UPDATED)

A Russian drone struck a 24-story residential building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district on Sept. 9, injuring at least six people, local authorities said.

The drone hit the building around the 11th and 12th floors, causing a fire and damaging walls on the 12th floor, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Three of the injured were hospitalized. A pregnant woman was among those hurt, Kyiv police said.

Later on Sept. 9, authorities said a drone fell onto an apartment building in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district, while a fire broke out at a warehouse in the area. Drone debris also fell in an open area in the Darnytskyi district.

Russian strikes also hit other locations in Kyiv overnight, including in the Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. Two trucks and a nearby garage caught fire at one site, while a two-story non-residential building burned at another. No casualties were reported in those strikes.
