General Staff confirms fire at Lukoil refinery, four ruptured tanks at Yaroslavl-3 pumping station
Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on Russian energy infrastructure and military targets on Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday, with Ukraine's General Staff releasing details of the confirmed damage.
An oil refinery and an oil pumping station, as well as dozens of command posts and ammunition depots, came under attack.
At the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Ukrainian forces struck the AVT-6 primary oil distillation unit, setting off a fire at the facility.
At the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station in Semibratovo, Yaroslavl Oblast — first reported on May 19 — the General Staff confirmed damage to four large storage tanks with a combined capacity of 140,000 cubic meters.
"The station is an important element of Russia's oil transportation system and is involved in supporting the military-industrial infrastructure of the aggressor state," the General Staff said.
Ukrainian forces also struck targets on temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory. Command posts were hit in Soledar and Ivanivske in Donetsk Oblast, and in Liubymivka in Kherson Oblast. Drone control hubs were struck near Piddubne and Perebudova in Donetsk Oblast, Huliaypole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Yelyzavetivka in Kursk Oblast, Russia.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed an ammunition depot in Marynivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and a repair base in Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast, and carried out strikes against Russian troop clusters in Donetsk, Snizhne, Myrne, and Novoukrainka.
Earlier today, media reported a fire at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Kstovo following a drone attack, which the General Staff has now confirmed.
