Drones attacked two major Russian industrial facilities overnight into Wednesday — the Azot chemical plant in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai, and the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast — with fires reported at both locations, according to the Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents and video footage.

Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed a drone attack near Nevinnomyssk, saying the target appeared to be the city's industrial zone. He claimed air defenses had repelled the attack with no casualties or damage.

However, Astra reported a fire at what appeared to be the Azot chemical complex, citing footage published by local residents. If confirmed, this would mark at least the seventh attack on the Azot facility during the full-scale war.

Ukraine's General Staff previously described the plant as a critically important component of Russia's military-industrial complex, with an annual production capacity of more than one million tons of ammonia and up to 1.4 million tons of ammonium nitrate — making it one of Russia's key suppliers of base components for explosives and ammunition manufacturing production.

A fire was also reported at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

Local authorities said students in the Kstovo district had been switched to remote learning in connection with the attack. Regional authorities did not report on the extent of the damage.

The Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery is one of Russia's largest oil processing facilities, with a capacity of approximately 17 million tons of crude oil per year. Ukrainian forces struck the same plant on May 18.
