Tourist killed as two helicopters collide near Mount Everest in Nepal

An Indian tourist was killed and a New Zealand tourist injured when two helicopters collided while preparing to land near Mount Everest in Nepal on November 3, Reuters reported, citing local authorities and airline officials.
The collision occurred in the Everest base camp area, according to Kaman Singh Thapa Magar, the chief district officer of Solukhumbu district. The injured New Zealander was rescued.
The helicopters belonged to two private Nepalese operators, Fishtail Air and Dynasty Air.
Fishtail Air said its helicopter was carrying tourists who had been evacuated from the Everest region when the accident occurred during landing. Dynasty Air said its helicopter was transporting cargo only.
The collision took place during Nepal's peak trekking season, when helicopters regularly transport hikers and climbers in the Everest region.
