Netherlands plans €26.5 million for Ukraine's reconstruction in 2027

The Netherlands plans to allocate €26.5 million to its Ukraine Partnership Facility program in 2027, with the funding potentially supporting projects to restore damaged infrastructure and strengthen essential services in Ukrainian communities.

Ukraine's Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport announced the plans on October 23 following a meeting between Minister Mykola Kalashnyk and Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine Roelof van Ees.

During the meeting, the Dutch side confirmed that the Ukraine Partnership Facility would continue in 2027 with a planned budget of €26.5 million. The two countries will explore how to use the funding for joint infrastructure projects.

Potential priorities include restoring water and heating systems, improving backup power supplies and strengthening transportation links.

"Our priority is to ensure the reliable operation of infrastructure that people depend on every day," Kalashnyk said, citing water and heating supplies, backup electricity and transport connections.

The officials also discussed Kyiv's need for pumping equipment, generators and energy storage systems, as well as possible involvement of Dutch manufacturers in temporary bridge construction.

Another topic was cooperation between the ports of Odesa and Rotterdam to help maintain international logistics routes amid continuing Russian attacks on Ukraine's port infrastructure.

Ukraine also invited the Netherlands to contribute to the Ukraine Transport Support Fund.

The ministry said both sides would continue developing joint projects and exploring financing options.
