Ukraine's Naftogaz, Poland's ORLEN agree on LNG supplies and $500 million fuel deal
Ukraine's state energy company Naftogaz and Polish energy group ORLEN have signed agreements to expand energy supplies to Ukraine as Russia continues to target the country's energy infrastructure.
Under the first memorandum, ORLEN is expected to supply Ukraine with three cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the first quarter of 2027, Naftogaz said.
A separate memorandum between ORLEN and Ukrnafta, part of the Naftogaz Group, provides for $500 million worth of petroleum product supplies to Ukraine.
“ORLEN is an important strategic partner for Naftogaz. Amid constant Russian attacks on our domestic production facilities, it is particularly important for us to have reliable sources of gas supplies and diversified delivery routes,” acting Naftogaz CEO Serhii Fedorenko said.
The companies will also explore supplying Ukrainian crude oil to European refineries and transferring used fuel trucks to Ukrnafta to help maintain stable fuel logistics.
The agreements were signed during the Carpathian Summit.
