Russian frigate fires flares at Danish military helicopter over international waters
A Russian Navy frigate fired two flares toward a Danish Air Force helicopter conducting routine photographic surveillance of the vessel in international waters off Gedser on Sept. 14, Denmark’s Armed Forces said. One of the flares passed close to the helicopter.

Flares are pyrotechnic devices normally used at sea as attention signals, the Danish Armed Forces said.
