Zelenskyy changes deputy heads of Foreign Intelligence Service

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made personnel changes in the Foreign Intelligence Service. The dismissal and appointment affected the deputy heads of the FIS under Oleh Ivashchenko, according to decrees No. 681/2024 and No. 682/2024.

Zelenskyy dismissed Oleh Luhovskyi from the post of Ivashchenko's deputy. Instead, he became the first deputy head of the FIS.

Oleh Sinayko also lost the post of deputy, with Hennadiy Bohach replacing him.

The reasons for such changes are currently unknown.

In March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Oleh Ivashchenko as the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. The previous head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, was dismissed in connection with his transfer to a new position.

The president explained that he appointed Ivashchenko because he is a "professional" and also understands the main state goal that Ukraine is facing right now.

Previously, General Oleh Ivashchenko held the position of first deputy chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine — assistant to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
