Prime Minister Koretskyi holds first international call; Ukraine expects $690 million IMF tranche

Ukraine’s newly appointed prime minister, Sergii Koretskyi, held his first international conversation in office with IMF Deputy Managing Director Dan Katz, saying Kyiv expects the next tranche of international assistance worth $690 million, according to his post on X.
According to him, the main topic was preparations for a meeting of the IMF Executive Board, which is expected to decide on the first review of Ukraine’s Extended Fund Facility program. The IMF confirmed that the meeting will take place on July 20.
“The approval of the 1st review by the IMF Executive Board should bring to Ukraine the next tranche of US$690 million of international aid,” Koretskyi said.
He added that he and Katz agreed to coordinate further steps to ensure stable financing for Ukraine’s state budget in 2027.
On July 16, Ukraine’s parliament approved Koretskyi’s appointment as prime minister. He replaced Yulia Svyrydenko in the post.
