On August 11, the defense ministers and representatives of 26 countries joined the Conference in Copenhagen to support Ukraine, pledging more than €1.5 billion in military aid, says the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
"€1.5 billion announced at the Copenhagen Ukraine conference today. 26 countries have agreed to support the continued military assistance to Ukraine. Their fight is our fight," says the statement.
The Minister of Defense of Denmark, Morten Bodskov, clarified at the end of the Conference that this money could be spent on the purchase of weapons for Ukraine or the training of the Ukrainian military, and this amount is likely to grow.
"A number of countries have also signaled their willingness to support but must first go home and discuss it in their parliaments," the minister said.
The Conference also agreed on a fund to increase the financing of arms production, which will be created by the UK. Poland and Slovakia announced that they would increase the production of military equipment.
They also discussed demining Ukraine – Iceland will play a key role in the preparation of the corresponding mission of partners.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said at a press conference that he was "satisfied with the conference and its outcome."
