21 casualties after Russian shelling of Kharkiv on August 17-18

As a result of rocket attacks on Kharkiv on August 17-18, at least 21 people died and another 44 were injured. In addition, in the shelling of Krasnohrad in Kharkiv Oblast, two people were killed and three were wounded, said Dmytro Chubenko, the spokesman of the regional prosecutor's office.

According to the latest information, 16 dead and 22 wounded have already been confirmed in the Saltivskyi district. The last corpses were of two people: a woman in her 50s and, probably, a man who was badly burned.

In the Slobidskyi district, rescue operations have been completed. There, as a result of Russian shelling on August 17-18, a total of five people died and 22 were injured. The body of a 39-year-old man was the last to be found from under the rubble.

In addition, as a result of the shelling of Krasnohrad in Kharkiv Oblast, two people were killed and three others were injured.

Background

Around 9:00 p.m. on August 17, the occupiers fired a rocket at a three-story residential building in the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv City. The explosion caused large-scale destruction and a fire on an area of ​​600 m². During the rescue operation, the rescuers managed to save four people. All of them suffered injuries of varying severity.

And on the morning of August 18, the Russians hit the premises of a dormitory in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv.
