In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a woman was detained for transmitting information about the positions of the Armed Forces units to the Russian intelligence agencies. She secretly learned the information from her military husband.
This is reported by the Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, a 31-year-old resident of Preobrazhenka urban-type settlement started cooperating with the occupiers in May. At the same time, she is married to a serviceman of the Armed Forces and they have a son together. The man is on the frontline; he regularly transferred money for child maintenance.
The woman used her husband secretly, as reported by the State Security Service. She asked him for information about the location of his military unit and other groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in frontline positions in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts.
She transmitted the received information through messengers to the military intelligence agencies of Russia. The occupiers used this data for artillery and mortar shelling, as well as airstrikes. In addition, the woman reported on the consequences of missile hitting and airstrikes, as well as reported the locations and routes of movement of units and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
The Russian serviceman to whom the suspect gave information promised her Russian citizenship and a high standard of living if the Russians succeeded in capturing the region.
The woman was detained while transmitting new information. She was charged with treason. The court has already chosen to keep her in custody as a preventive measure. And in case of final proof of guilt, the woman faces life imprisonment.
