An attack with a record number of drones and the visit of the Swiss president to Kyiv: highlights for November 25

The occupiers have launched a record number of drones across Ukraine, most of them in the direction of Kyiv. The President of Switzerland arrived in Kyiv. We have collected the main news for November 25, 2023.
Attack by drones
On the night of November 25 and in the morning, Russian troops launched a record number of attack drones at Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. In total, the Russians used about 75 Shahed-131/136 attack drones, of which 74 were shot down, the Air Force reported.
Houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. There are injured people in the capital.
Visit of the President of Switzerland
Swiss President Alain Berset arrived in Kyiv. He met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Berset noted that he arrived in Kyiv to take part in an international summit on food security.
"The main focus is on the consequences of Russia's military aggression on global food security and Switzerland's long-term support for Ukraine," he said.

Commemorating the victims of the Holodomor
The military and political leadership of Ukraine, leaders of European countries, and religious leaders took part in events marking the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
In the morning, an interfaith prayer of remembrance was held at the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Spiritual leaders of different faiths prayed side by side. Each of them said their own prayer for the innocent victims of the famine in Ukraine.

At 16:00, the nationwide action "Light a Candle" took place. Traditionally, on Holodomor Remembrance Day, a lighted candle is placed on the windowsill. Ukrainians carried candles and flowers to the Bitter Memory of Childhood monument.
Zelenskyy's comment on border blockade
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has linked the blocking of checkpoints on the border with Poland to "some political steps by our neighbors". He added that Ukraine has an action plan to resolve this situation.
"There are difficulties on the border, in my opinion, primarily because of certain political steps of our neighbors. I think we need to have a very balanced policy, and an action plan to follow. We have this plan (…) I think our neighbors should be given a little time. Everything will warm up," Zelenskyy said, as quoted by Ukrinform.
Running over a patrol policeman
Investigators served a notice of suspicion to the driver of the Ford on the fact of hitting a patrol policeman and filed a request for a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.
Police officers classified the driver's actions under two articles of the Criminal Code: Part 1 of Article 286-1 (violation of traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) and Part 1 of Article 135 (leaving in danger).
According to the sanctions of the articles, the man may face up to 3 years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 5 years.
