Inclemency continues in Ukraine

As of this morning, 2019 settlements in 16 regions of Ukraine were without power as a result of the bad weather. Squally winds, snow and blizzard were recorded in these regions. The Ministry of Energy claimed that the most difficult situation was in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions.

In Odesa, a high wind caused an accident at one of the district's high-capacity boiler houses, and a pipe over 100 meters high fell. As a result of the accident, 246 apartment buildings were left without heating - 120,000 people in total. In addition, 25 educational and medical institutions are without heating.

Strong wind gusts in Kyiv also damaged the cloth of Ukraine's largest flag, despite the fact that it had been lowered the day before the weather conditions deteriorated. The Kyiv City State Administration noted that the damaged flag would be removed from the flagpole. It was later replaced with a new one.

The State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development noted that despite the cessation of heavy snowfall as of the evening of November 27, the situation on the roads in some regions was still difficult. Experts continue to deal with the consequences of the weather.
