Armed Forces destroy Russian hardware in the south, Zambia demands explanations from Russia: the last night's highlights

Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian S—300 and Tor—M2 missile systems in the south; Zambia demands Russia explain how its convicted citizen ended up in the war against Ukraine. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Success of Ukrainian troops in the south

On November 14, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed Russian S-300 and Tor-M2 missile systems, and 3 armored vehicles on the southern front, the Operational Command “South” reported.

New IAEA expert missions

The International Atomic Energy Agency will send nuclear safety missions to three operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine and to Chornobyl in the coming weeks at Kyiv’s request.

Zambia demands explanations from Russia

Zambia demands that the Russian authorities explain how a South African citizen convicted in Russia ended up in the war in Ukraine, where he subsequently died.

As noted, the deceased 23-year-old student Lemekhani Nathan Nyirenda studied the design of nuclear installations at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute. In April 2020, he was sentenced to 9 and a half years in prison in Russia. The reason for this sentence was not specified.

Exhumation of civilians in Kharkiv Oblast

Law enforcement officers exhumed the bodies of four more civilians in the liberated part of Kharkiv Oblast. One of them was tortured by Russian soldiers.

Thus, on November 14, in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, law enforcement officers exhumed the body of a 45-year-old man. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, he was tortured by Russian occupiers during the occupation. Two stab wounds were found on the back of the deceased.

Other important news:

  • The European Parliament will next week consider a resolution recognizing Russia as a terrorist state. The largest MP group of the European Parliament, the European People's Party, said it would support this document;
  • During the occupation, Russian troops “practically destroyed” the energy facility that provided power supply to the entire right bank of Kherson Oblast and a significant part of Mykolaiv Oblast;
  • In the evening of November 14, electricity was cut off in almost the entire part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, which is temporarily under Russian occupation;
  • Information was spread in social networks that power cuts in Kyiv could allegedly stop in a week. Ukrenergo denied these statements.
