At least 6 Russian aircraft destroyed at Morozovsk airfield
At least 6 planes were destroyed in a drone attack at the Russian airfield of Morozovsk in the Rostov region, Russia.
An informed source told hromadske about this.
In addition to the 6 destroyed, another 8 planes were severely damaged. About 20 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded.
According to our source, the attack on the Morozovsk airfield was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine together with the military and the Defense Forces.
The airfield was home to Su-24, Su-24M, and Su-34 frontline bombers, which are the types of aircraft used by Russia to drop guided bombs on Ukrainian army positions and frontline Ukrainian cities.
The airfield came under attack on the night of April 5. Witnesses reported numerous drones and counted more than 60 explosions. Power supply was interrupted in several districts of the Rostov region. The governor stated that air defense forces allegedly destroyed more than 40 targets in the Morozovsky district.
This airfield has already been attacked by drones on December 17, 2023. At least one plane was damaged then. A source told hromadske that it was a joint special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Armed Forces.
