Attack on ferry crossings in the south, military administrations in Donetsk Oblast: the last night’s highlights

The Ukrainian military in the south struck enemy ferry crossings and drone control centers, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy established 4 military administrations in Donetsk Oblast. Here is what you could have missed from the last night.

Fighting in the south

The Ukrainian military on the southern front destroyed more than 100 Russian occupiers, 5 warehouses with enemy ammunition, and 17 hardware units in a day.

In addition, the Armed Forces hit the Russian drone control center in the Pravdyne area and the ferry crossing near Kozatske in Kherson Oblast.

Military administrations in Donetsk Oblast

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on establishing Dobropillia, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and Selydоvе city military administrations. All of them are located in Pokrovsk Raion of Donetsk Oblast.

Ship with grain from Ukraine ran aground

A cargo ship carrying corn from Ukraine ran aground near Istanbul. Because of this, shipping in the Bosporus Strait was temporarily suspended. This is the first such incident since the adoption of the “grain agreement” in July.

The ship's rudder failed. There are no casualties or injuries. The team of the Main Directorate of Coast Guard, rescue tugs, and boats were sent to the scene of the incident.

Finland is preparing military aid

Finland will provide Ukraine with additional defense aid worth 8.3 million euros. This will be the eighth batch of military aid for Ukrainian defenders. The country's Ministry of Defense assured that Finland took into account both the needs of Ukraine and the resource situation of the Defense Forces.

Zelenskyy about the IAEA's visit to the ZNPP

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, welcomed the visit of the IAEA to the ZNPP occupied by Russian troops. However, he said that the occupiers are trying to turn a really necessary mission into a fruitless tour around the plant.

Zelenskyy expressed disappointment that the IAEA did not call on Russia to demilitarize the plant territory, but hopes that the mission will still “draw objective conclusions from the circumstances at the plant.”

Sweden will buy at least 40,000 tons of wheat from Ukraine. This grain will be delivered to countries where there is a risk of mass starvation, such as Ethiopia, Yemen, and Afghanistan.
