Chief of the Azov staff talked about the stay in captivity
The first days after leaving Mariupol, the commanders of the Azov regiment were held captive in the occupied territory, and later they were taken to Russia. During the press conference, the chief of the Azov regiment staff, Bohdan Krotevych, and acting deputy commander of the regiment for work with personnel, Illia Samoilenko, told about this.
In addition, Krotevych mentions that the Russian special services wanted to recruit regiment soldiers after leaving Azovstal. “They wanted, so to say, to recruit Azov as a unit. Like, since you guys are fighting a good fight, let's destroy the West and the USA together,” Krotevych recalls.
However, the Azov members had a unanimous opinion that the enemies were the Russians, therefore, after such answers, there were no more proposals for cooperation.
Armed Forces liberated more than 400 sq. km of the Kherson Oblast
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already liberated more than 400 square kilometers of Kherson Oblast from Russian occupation. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Operational Command “South” Nataliia Humeniuk.
Humeniuk added that the situation on the southern front remains difficult, and its development is “very dynamic”. At the same time, the Ukrainian servicemen continue to advance — in several directions, the front line is deepening up to 20 kilometers.
Furthermore, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Oleksii Hromov said that since October 1, Ukrainian troops took control of 29 settlements in Kherson Oblast, Interfax-Ukraine cites.
Missile attack on Zaporizhzhia
As a result of the morning missile attack on Zaporizhzhia, three people were killed, and 12 more were hospitalized with injuries, including one child. This is reported by Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
At 5:30, the occupiers shelled the city with S-300 missiles. Several detached houses and multi-apartment buildings came under attack. In total, the invaders struck six times.
Federal Security Service does not let Ukrainians with Russian passports leave Russia
On the Russian borders with Latvia and Estonia, many Ukrainian citizens are trying to leave the territory of the Russian Federation. People have been waiting for 2 to 6 days. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
At special filtering points, the Federal Security Service checks if Ukrainian citizens have Russian passports. According to the agency, if a citizen of Ukraine does not have a passport of the Russian Federation, they are allowed to leave.
At the same time, if the Federal Security Service establishes that a citizen of Ukraine also has a Russian passport, such a person will not be allowed to leave Russia.
Situation at the front
The armed forces of Ukraine repelled attacks near ten settlements. Ukrainian aviation made 11 strikes against the occupiers, there are confirmed casualties. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the evening briefing.
During the day, the occupiers launched 6 missile and 7 air strikes and shelled the Ukrainian territory using MLRS more than 23 times. Facilities and civilian population of more than 25 settlements were damaged by enemy strikes.
