Battles for heights, match against England, explosions during sham elections in occupied areas: highlights

Ukrainian drones attacked a polling station in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, guerrillas blew up a car with ballots in Kherson Oblast, and the Ukrainian national team drew with England in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. We have collected the main news for September 9.
Explosions during sham elections
hromadske's sources in the SBU reported that Ukrainian kamikaze drones attacked the occupiers' "election headquarters" in the village of Skelky, Vasylivka district, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. The occupiers used this "headquarters" to store "ballots and documents".
Meanwhile, in the occupied Nova Kakhovka, on the east bank of Kherson Oblast, guerrillas blew up a car used by the occupiers to transport "ballots". The explosion killed one Russian soldier and wounded two others.
Fighting at the front
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote in its morning report: "On the Kherson axis, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the captured positions on the east bank of the Dnipro River." This is the first mention of occupied positions on the east bank of Kherson Oblast since at least early September.
British intelligence reported that Russian troops had begun to move reinforcements from other parts of the frontline to the village of Robotyne in the Pohohy district of Zaporizhzhya Oblast. It noted that Ukrainian army units had advanced deep into the multi-layered Russian defense line east of Robotyne.
Meanwhile, near the village of Novoyehorivka, Svatove district, Luhansk Oblast, the Defense Forces are fighting with the Russian occupation forces for important heights that give them a certain advantage.

Match against England at Euro 2024
Ukraine's national football team drew against England in a 1-1 draw in the 2024 European Championship qualifying match. The Ukrainians were the first to get points in a game against the English team in these qualifiers. The goals were scored by Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kyle Walker.
Ukraine continues to rank second in the standings with seven points. The Ukrainian national team will play its next match against Italy on Tuesday, September 12.

New drone wreckage found in Romania
The Romanian Defense Ministry announced that the military found new fragments of a drone similar to those used by the Russian army on September 9.
The wreckage was found near Plaura, a village near Ukraine's Izmail. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said that this was "an absolutely unacceptable violation of the sovereign airspace of Romania, a NATO ally." In turn, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that there were no signs of a deliberate attack on the Alliance.
G20 Summit Declaration
Representatives of the Group of Twenty (G20) countries at the summit in India agreed on a consensus declaration that avoided condemning Russia for its war against Ukraine, but called on all states to refrain from using force to seize territory.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that "there is nothing to be proud of" in this declaration. They emphasized that the participation of the Ukrainian side would have allowed the participants to better understand the situation and suggested what the declaration should look like "to be closer to reality."
