Commander of Kyiv territorial defense company, who is suspected of selling weapons, to face trial

The State Bureau of Investigation submitted an indictment to the court against the commander of the company of Territorial Defense in Kyiv. He is suspected of illegal sale of firearms and explosives, reported the press service of the SBI.

The investigation established that the suspected commander illegally sold three Kalashnikov assault rifles and two explosive devices.

According to the SBI, the man involved an acquaintance in the trade, who found buyers for weapons and acted as an intermediary. The accomplices divided the received funds among themselves depending on the role each played in their scheme.

Law enforcement officers caught the perpetrators red-handed during the sale of firearms, for which they charged $4,300.

Potential punishment

A former Teroboronov soldier is accused of selling firearms - Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code. He faces from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.

The materials of the case regarding his manual are separated into a separate criminal proceeding. The SBI does not provide details of his case.
