NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO will invite Ukraine to join the Alliance "when allies agree and conditions are met."

"We have also made it clear that we will extend an invitation to Ukraine to join NATO when the allies agree and the conditions are met," he said. The membership process for Ukraine "will move from a two-step to a one-step path," the NATO Secretary General added.

This may mean that Ukraine will be invited to join NATO without a Membership Action Plan (MAP). Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on the eve of the Vilnius summit, there were "signals" that NATO was not ready to invite Ukraine to join the Alliance. "Uncertainty is a weakness. And I will discuss this frankly at the summit," the president assured.

Svitolina is in the semifinals of Wimbledon

In the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon women's singles tournament, Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina defeated world number one Iga Swiatek of Poland to reach the semifinals.

In the semifinals, the Ukrainian will face Czech Republic's Marketa Vondroušová. Elina will play in the Wimbledon semifinals for the second time in her career. In the 2019 season, the Ukrainian was defeated at this stage by the future champion Simona Halep.

Tandyr case

A forensic psychological examination has confirmed that Judge Oleksiy Tandyr, who fatally ran over a National Guard soldier at a checkpoint in Kyiv, was drunk at the time of the accident, the State Bureau of Investigation reported.

The agency notes that the judge, having special legal knowledge and professional skills, tried to hide the signs of intoxication. He tried to prevent the establishment of the amount of alcohol in the biological fluids taken from him.

The SBI also added that, according to the results of another examination, the judge was driving the car at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour at the time of the accident.

Coalition for pilot training

On July 11, 11 partner nations and Ukraine signed a memorandum defining the conditions for training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said.

The memorandum was signed by Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Follow-up on Ukrainian man who was removed from Wizz Air flight

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has tracked down a man with a prosthesis who was removed from a Wizz Air flight. Oleksandr is not a military man or a veteran, and he became disabled as a result of a car accident many years ago.
