Defense package from US, head of State Special Communications Service dismissed and charged: highlights of November 20

The United States has allocated $100 million in military aid to Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of the State Special Communications Service, Yuriy Shchyhol, and his deputy. The Defense Ministry will conduct recruitment to the Armed Forces through the Work.ua platform. We have collected the main news for November 20.
Defense package from the United States
The United States has allocated a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $100 million. It is designed to meet the critical needs of the Ukrainian army, including the provision of air defense equipment, artillery ammunition, and anti-tank weapons.
The aid was announced against the backdrop of a visit by Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Subdivision for F-16 integration
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will create a special unit to organize a comprehensive process of continuous integration of F-16 aircraft into the overall system of the Defense Forces.
It is planned that the program will have two stages of deployment: "fast track", which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, and "scale-up".
MPs want to change the rules of mobilization
Representatives of all parliamentary factions in the Verkhovna Rada are preparing a draft law on mobilization, military registration, and military service. In particular, the parliamentarians want to grant the right to demobilization to servicemen with disabilities of groups I and II and those who have returned from captivity.
The MPs also propose to expand the list of people who will be eligible for military service.
Dismissal of the head of the State Special Communications Service
The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection, Yuriy Shchyhol, and his deputy. They are suspected of misappropriating public funds worth over 62 million hryvnias ($1.7 million).
According to the investigation, in 2020-2022, the owner of a private group of companies and the management of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection created a scheme to misappropriate money allocated for equipment and software. At the same time, the State Special Communications Service claims that all purchases were legal.

Strike of Polish carriers
Polish protesters blocking crossing points on the border with Ukraine often do not allow even humanitarian aid and fuel to pass through, despite promises. The team of the Ministry of Infrastructure continues to work on unblocking the border.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg writes that Polish farmers want to join the strike of carriers.
Recruiting via Work.ua
The Ministry of Defense and Ukraine's largest employment website Work.ua have signed a memorandum of cooperation. From now on, the platform will conduct recruitment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The day before, the ministry launched a similar project with the Lobby X HR organization.
