'Early' Christmas, attack on energy sector of Kryvyi Rih: last night's higlights
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine allowed this year to hold a Christmas service on December 25, the Kryvyi Rih district was shelled at night, and another victim of the attacked column was found inKharkiv Oblast. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.
Strike on Kryvyi Rih district
At night, Russian forces struck at the energy infrastructure facility in Kryvyi Rih district, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Many settlements of the district and Inhuletskyi microdistrict in Kryvyi Rih were left without electricity. There is no information about the victims and the scale of destruction.
OCU allows Christmas service on December 25
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine, as an exception, allowed this year, by the decision of the rector and the community, to hold services in honor of the Nativity of Christ according to the New Julian calendar, that is, on December 25.
The decision was made in view of the numerous requests and taking into account the discussion that has been going on for many years in the church and in society, as well as to study the real church need for calendar changes in the near future.
Zelenskyy dismisses ambassador to Kazakhstan
President Volodymyr has Zelenskyy dismissed Ukraine's ambassador to Kazakhstan, whom Astana asked to be replaced because of his phrase about the murders of Russians. Zelenskyy also appointed ambassadors to Morocco and Slovakia.
Transfer from Germany

Mayor of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi reports beating by SBU
The mayor of the city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in Odesa Oblast Vitaliy Hrazhdan said that he was beaten by SBU officers during searches.
The Security Service responded that it was the official who attacked the law enforcement officers. They claim that the mayor is suspected of fraud related to compensation for damage caused to one of the district's facilities as a result of a missile attack.
Fighting in the south
Ukrainian military on the southern front destroyed more than 80 enemy troops, 6 units of their equipment and three ammunition depots on October 18.
One released, two abducted
IAEA representatives at ZNPP reported the release of the kidnapped Deputy Director General Valeriy Martyniuk. At the same time, the NPP operator Energoatom reported the abduction of two more ZNPP employees.
Another victim of the attacked convoy
The body of a 19-year-old boy was found in Kharkiv Oblast, who, according to preliminary data, walked about 1.5 km wounded after the shooting of the convoy and died in the landing. Thus, the number of those killed in the shooting of the convoy on September 25 in Kupyansk district of Kharkiv Oblast increased to 26.
Shelling of Sumy region
In the last day 64 incursions were registered in Sumy Oblast. As a result of a strike on the center of the village of Yunakivska community, two residents were killed and another was wounded.
Residential buildings, a playground and a gym, a school, an outpatient clinic and power lines were damaged in the region, said Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, head of Sumy Oblast Military Administration.
